Fila Manila partners with Project Barkada to give back to the local AAPI / Filipino Community
Fila Manila, a Filipino food start up, announces a partnership to donate 100% of sales to Project Barkada for every simmer sauce sold at Whole Foods Market in Westbury, NY during the time period of 4/23 - 5/31.
NEW YORK—April 21, 2021— Fila Manila, a Filipino food start up that produces all natural and flavorful Filipino simmer sauces, today announced that they will be donating 100% of sales for the month of May to Project Barkada, a non-profit that focuses on supporting & uplifting the Filipino community. The initiative, part of Fila Manila’s larger mission to ignite Filipino cuisine and community, is a collaboration in response to recent attacks against the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.
For every jar of Fila Manila sold at our Whole Foods Market location in Westbury, NY from Friday, April 23 until Monday, May 31st, the company will donate 100% of sales—not just a portion of proceeds or profits, but 100% of total sales—to Project Barkada. This organization is based in the local NYC community and works to provide direct aid to front-line workers and people in need. Fila Manila is doing this to give back to the same community that inspired our products and mission, and because it is the right thing to do. - jake
