Tangy Butterscotch Wings (Featuring Banana Ketchup)

Is there anything better than a plate of wings? There is! A plate of butterscotch wings with Fila Manila’s sweet and tangy Banana Ketchup! These are great for having guests over, or just for dinner. It’s low effort, but the taste is out of this world! That is thanks to the simple butterscotch sauce recipe and flavors from the Banana Ketchup. I would highly recommend these wings to anyone who wants to treat their taste buds to a delicious southeast asian inspired bite!

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons Fila Manila Banana Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Butterscotch Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk, warmed
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°. Using a sharp knife, cut through the 2 wing joints; discard wing tips. Combine the other 6 ingredients into a bowl; add wings and toss to coat.
  2. Line a pan with foil; grease with cooking spray. Bake wings in pan for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350° and bake until juices run clear, 12-15 minutes. Remove from the oven; keep warm.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small skillet, spread sugar; cook, without stirring, over medium heat until it begins to melt. Gently drag melted sugar to the center of the pan so it melts evenly. Cook, without stirring, until melted sugar turns amber. Carefully stir in warm milk and butter. Simmer, stirring frequently, until thickened, 5-7 minutes. Keep warm.
  4. To serve, toss wings in butterscotch sauce. Sprinkle with green onion and sliced peppers (optional). Serve hot.
